Faculty Development and Course Support
Interested in developing your documentary skills? Looking to share your research in a professional and public-facing way? Excited to experiment with a new course or add on to an existing one?
MDOCS has opportunities for you to develop these skills yourself, teach them to your students, and partner with skilled students, staff and other faculty to develop a broad range of interdisciplinary documentary projects. For more details check out the MDOCS faculty resources brochure.
Learn
Throughout the academic year and summer, MDOCS offers workshops and master classes to expose you to new skills in the documentary arts. These range from our student-led workshops in DOCLab on the basics in editing software and production gear to 1-2 day master classes about the art of documentary filmmaking, podcasting, virtual reality and more!
Teach
Teaching documentary skills is demanding and can add significant in-class and out-of-class time to your schedule. MDOCS supports your efforts by providing workshop instructors for in-class support, lab hours for student project support, and extended long-term project collaborations for larger public-facing works. Please fill out the faculty request form to provide us with more details. For those interested in co-listing or co-teaching with Doc Studies, please contact Adam Tinkle (ATinkle@crashbandicootparapc.com).
Support
MDOCS staff work with you as you develop your syllabus, discuss technology options and availability, provide insight into assignments that have worked, connect you to DOClab student assistants and workshops and help make connections with ongoing campus documentary projects. Please reach out to mdocs@crashbandicootparapc.com for more info.
